Bertie goes on tour

Launch of new low energy lightbulb recycling in Tewkesbury... Info and names from Julie Davies .. 01684 272354

As of the 8th of August I’m getting my 15 minutes of fame!

Well in fact it’s 6 days of touring the UK, as I undertake the official Bertie Bulb Tour of Britain. I will be visiting two councils and 12 Homebase stores across the country to raise awareness of the importance of recycling. Did you know that 8 out of 10 people who use energy efficient light bulbs don’t even know we need to be recycled?

Thanks to the various partnerships Recolight has set up with retailers and local authorities, recycling energy efficient light bulbs just got a lot easier. For example, shoppers in Homebase can now use the in-store collection facilities that are available in all 320 stores nationwide, adding to our existing facilities at Sainsbury’s and Robert Dyas stores. We are also working with a number of local authorities with the aim of providing many more convenient collection points, to add to the 1,100 civic amenity sites across the country. The new collection points available through our retail and local authority partners will give consumers a wider range of options to make recycling energy-saving light bulbs as easy as possible.

Over the 6 days I will be visiting; Peterborough, Doncaster, Harrogate, Sunderland, Berwick, Dundee, Glasgow, Kendal, Liverpool, Manchester, Stroud, Southampton, Ipswich and Cambridge. I am positive it will be illuminating for every place I visit! It’s my time to shine!!
