Recolight calendar – send your photo by Wednesday 9th December to win a crate of beer!

Calling all collection points! We are inviting you to provide images of you and your collection points for our 2010 collection point calendar. Each collection point selected for the calendar will receive a generous crate of beer as well as the kudos and publicity of being on our calendar. You can be as creative as you like with your images. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee every image will be used.

Please send your photo entries as a jpg file to Paul Childs pchilds@eloquipr.co.uk before Wednesday 11th December, with details of the collection point and names of those in the picture. We are happy to include information about your business alongside the picture.

Nominate a collection point

If you know of a business that would benefit from joining Recolight's free collection network or a customer who needs a free one-off lamp collection, why not let us know? As we look to expand our network we welcome nominations from existing network members. Any nominations that result in new collection points or one-off lamp collections will be entered into our prize draw to win a bottle of bubbly. And remember, as a Recolight collection point we want to celebrate your recycling achievements. Why not get in touch and we can feature you in our newsletter and on our website.

Recolight and Sainsbury’s launch co-collection partnership

Sainsubury's

Five Sainsbury’s stores are piloting a scheme in partnership with Recolight to offer energy-saving light bulb and battery recycling facilities to consumers. Sainsbury’s stores  in Croydon, Sydenham, Greenwich, London Colney and Harringay now have a Recolight lamp and battery collection bin, and the scheme will be rolled out across 200 larger stores by the end of January next year.

As part of our ongoing commitment to raising recycling rates, we hope that these recycling points will encourage consumers to recycle their end-of-life lamps in a specially designed container which will be visible to millions of customers every week. Research we conducted indicated that consumers will recycle energy-saving light bulbs if they have access to suitable drop off points and Sainsbury’s provides an excellent location for these joint collections.

ARH Group Ltd
ARH group

ARH Group Ltd is an electrical contractor formed in 1990 in central England which now covers all of the UK. The head office in Shrewsbury is one of the busiest collection points in the Recolight network.  Maintaining a commitment to embrace new technology, ARH Group Ltd provides the resources and professionalism of a large company with the flexibility and personal attention of one much smaller. ARH provides impartial advice on, and professional installation of, the most appropriate electrical solutions for their customers' facility.

Terry Walsh, Maintenance Purchasing manager at ARH Group Ltd, said "We’ve been looking for environmentally friendly ways of recycling old lamps and fluorescent tubes since 1999. At that time it wasn't easy to do, but now Recolight has made the whole process very easy and simple.

For ARH, being a collection point has meant we can continue to be one step ahead. Our 80 engineers nationwide have the details of the nearest Recolight open collection point in their areas, so when necessary they all know exactly where to go to dispose of old lamps after a job.

Working with Recolight has helped us to deal more effectively with the process of recycling lamps, and as a result, we are able to offer an excellent standard of service to our ever growing customer base. The service offered by Recolight is a no fuss, simple, effective and easy system to use."

Wavertree Electrical Supplies Ltd
wavertree electrical supplies

Based in Liverpool, Wavertree Electrical Supplies has been in the electrical wholesaler business for 25 years. Aiming to provide customers with the best selection of value for money, quality products and fast, friendly service, Wavertree offers a large choice of electrical products. Expanding the business to Preston, the first branch of sister-company Target Electrical Supplies opened in 1987, followed by further branches of Wavertree which have since been opened across Liverpool.

Clare Forshaw at Wavertree Electrical Supplies said "Our customer’s are happy knowing they can dispose of their lamps locally and they are made well aware that their waste will be dealt with in the correct way. Our company view has always been “if it can be recycled, it will get recycled”.

Working with Recolight has definitely improved business; customers keep returning to purchase more electrical equipment whilst taking full advantage of our recycling facility, which is local and convenient.

Recolight’s excellent service is second to none and they have helped to make the recycling process easier, taking the hassle out of it for us.  I would definitely recommend Recolight to other electrical wholesalers."
