The Recolight services objectives are:

  • To maximise customer services with cost efficiency
  • To maximise all environmental benefits

The Scheme's services include:

  • Transferring liability from the Participants (the signed up, obligated Producers) to the Scheme as required under the terms of the Regulations
  • Interpreting and conforming to all regulatory requirements in order to achieve best value solutions on behalf of the Participants
  • Providing support to the Scheme's Participants which minmizes their need to be involved in the detail of the Regulations but at the same time ensuring their Compliance with them
  • Providing a telephone Helpline and e-mail support for Participants and their customers
  • Lobbying to ensure that the Scheme determines how its members can optimally comply with the regulations in order to achieve best value
  • Negotiating with Government in order to identify the optimal way of identifying, recording and auditing the Scheme's recycling and recovery obligations and performance on behalf of its Participants
  • Agreeing the necessary data provision and audit trails to meet the regulatory requirements
  • Developing and managing a logistics database interfacing with the Operators in order to ensure cost-efficient collections
  • Arranging the supply of recycling & logistics services through Operators who, in the Scheme's view, deliver best value against Recolight's purchasing requirements and who, as a minimum, can demonstrate that they conform to any statutory requirements of the Regulations and requirements in terms of licensing and treatment/reporting requirements
  • Operating assessment and audit procedures with appointed Operators to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and Regulations, in respect of activities carried out on behalf of the Scheme and its members.
