The Recolight team of WEEE experts provide specialist recycling services and advice for all lighting in scope of the WEEE regulations.
Nigel Harvey, Chief Executive
Nigel has worked in the Product Compliance Industry since 1990 in a variety of senior management roles covering marketing, business development, and operational management. Nigel joined Recolight as Chief Executive and Company Secretary in 2009. He is very active in both the lighting and WEEE sectors:
- Chair of the UK’s WEEE compliance scheme trade association, the WEEE Scheme Forum (WSF) since 2011, and a director of WSF Ltd since 2013.
- Nominated as a PCS guest to attend meetings of the Joint Trade Association (JTA) which works with producer trade associations including the LIA, to obtain a fair UK WEEE system. Â Has supported the JTA in the preparation of the proposals to operate the WEEE compliance fee which have been chosen by Defra in 7 of the last 8 years.
- Elected as a Director of EucoLight, the European trade association for lighting WEEE compliance schemes in 2015. Elected Vice President of EucoLight in 2017.
- Member of two BSI committees that include the review of WEEE treatment standards, and the development of a code of practice for the remanufacture of lighting equipment.
Nigel has published over 40 articles on WEEE and lighting over the last four years. He was named the first ever Lux Magazine Person of the year in 2012 and has been listed as one the UK’s 100 most influential people in the waste/resources industry for several years. He is also a climate activist.
Suzanne Castine, Marketing, PR, & Comms Manager
As Recolight Marketing Manager Suzanne is helping to:
- drive up membership,
- increase recycling rates,
- promote the Circular Economy for Lighting,
- and build the reputation of Recolight as the leading producer compliance scheme for the lighting industry.
Her marketing plan includes:
- Effective communication with Recolight’s 200+ Compliance Scheme Members and 3000+ business collection partners, helping them to stay informed with changes in WEEE legislation, sustainable lighting solutions, and reducing carbon.
- Ownership of Recolight website content – ensuring it sets industry-leading standards for accuracy and clarity.
- Management of press and public relations – promoting sustainable lighting practices. Recolight’s pivotal role in the process, are widely recognised.
- Planning, coordination and delivery of Recolight’s exhibition, conference and seminar attendance – promoting awareness of Recolight’s services for Members and Collection Partners.
- Delivery of Recolight Webinar Series – Lighting & the Circular Economy.
- Management of Circular Lighting Live.
Suzanne joined Recolight in 2010 after working for BT Global Services in the Defence Sector; a major contract providing secure network services to the MOD and their industry partners.
Cindi Novell, Operations Manager
Cindi joined Recolight in 2016 working in the Operations Team. In 2023 she took on the role of the Operations and Health/Safety Manager, managing all aspects of the delivery of collection and recycling services.
Cindi is responsible for setting up supply arrangements with recycling service providers: auditing of suppliers, on a risk based approach, to ensure compliance with environmental, health/safety, and other requirements. She is Recolight’s main contact for the Environment Agency, and WEEE data submitted to the EA.
With Recolight’s commitment to Net Zero by 2030, Cindi is monitoring Recolight’s carbon footprint, and implementing policies to reduce it; helping to drive the company to a more sustainable, circular, and efficient service.
Adrian Willis, Membership Development Manager
Adrian has worked in the UK lighting industry, dealing with luminaire manufacturers, for the last 18 years. He joins Recolight from the major UK component distributor Prime Light Electrical. Previously, Adrian spent fourteen years as Sales Manager for market leading control gear manufacturer Vossloh Schwabe.
Adrian plays an integral role in ensuring our existing members are kept abreast of developments in the industry, which is especially important with the introduction of the updated WEEE Regulations.
Lyndsey Tweddle, Customer Service Manager
Lyndsey joined Recolight in 2010 with a wealth of experience in Customer Service and Account Management within the logistics industry. Lyndsey heads up the Customer Service team managing over 750 collections each month. Lyndsey and her team offer compliance guidance to Recolight Collection points making sure they meet all the requirements set out by the WEEE regulations.
As Customer Service Manager Lyndsey is involved with contract negotiation for our collection partners, set up of new collection points and making sure that all customers meet the terms set out in our Service Level Agreement.
Flavie Lowres, PhD, Environmental Metrics Manager
Flavie joined Recolight in February 2026, taking on the role of Environmental Metrics Manager. She will work for Recolight for two days a week and takes over Max Robson’s role managing the Recolight LCA Service.
Flavie joins Recolight with a distinguished track record in sustainability and environmental science. After earning her PhD from the University of Birmingham, she began her career at BRE in 2003 as a materials scientist. Rising to the role of associate director, she specialised in life cycle assessment (LCA), environmental product declaration (EPD), and the circular economy of construction products and buildings. She has applied her LCA knowledge to other sector such as shopfitting equipment and temporary shelters for disaster recovery areas.
In 2021, Flavie founded Green Thinking Ltd, further cementing her commitment to sustainable practices. She also joined the Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) as their sustainability champion, where she has spearheaded the development of project reuse, an initiative aimed at standardising and industrialising reuse in commercial fitout projects. Additionally, Flavie is a fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) and chairs their Construction Materials Group Board.
