THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY & SUSTAINABILITY
The Recolight Commitment to
The Circular Economy & Sustainability
Learn about Recolight’s policies and strategies to reduce our own carbon footprint; to improve the circularity of what we do, and to encourage our suppliers of transport and recycling services to do likewise.Â
And Recolight’s role to encourage others in both the lighting and waste sectors to also adopt more circular economy principles and to reduce carbon emissions.
LCA & EPDs
Empowering lighting manufacturers to assess environmental impact
Life Cycle Assessment and Environmental Product Declaration services specifically designed for lighting manufacturers.
The services will help you to understand the processes involved in quantifying and reducing the environmental impact of your products.
Using LCA, you can realise the impacts not just from operational usage, but the whole of the product’s life cycle, and identify supply chain hotspots.
CIRCULAR LIGHTING LIVE
Circular Lighting Live is the UK’s first major in-person event dedicated to sustainable lighting. Circular Lighting Live discusses how the lighting industry can make the circular economy a reality.
Established in 2022 by Ray Molony, and Recolight, the event is a vital step on the industry’s journey to a low carbon, circular economy.
To understand this new landscape, the conference brings together leading experts, specifiers and policy makers to share their insights into forthcoming standards and legislation, emerging technologies and new business models.
Â
CIRCULAR LIGHTING REPORT
Circular Lighting Report is an independent guide to the latest developments in sustainable and circular lighting. Learn about the people, products, projects and processes that are shaping our industry’s low carbon future. Plus: explainers on the latest innovations, opinion from thought leaders and video interviews with leading disruptors.
Edited by lighting expert, editor and industry figure Ray Molony
CIRCULAR ECONOMY WEBINARS
Recolight regularly runs circular economy webinars to bring together experts from across the lighting industry. Free to all, they cover legislation for the circular economy, product design, and support the industry to be more sustainable.
They have brought tangible leadership to this vital topic and as a result, helped build consensus on the need to act right through the supply chain.
RECOLIGHT’S NET ZERO CARBON COMMITMENT
In 2021, we set a target to be Net Zero by 2030, but we now know this will not be possible with the technologies currently available to us.
However, we continue to pursue emissions reductions by regularly evaluating our logistics and other operational activities, without using carbon offsets
They have brought tangible leadership to this vital topic and as a result, helped build consensus on the need to act right through the supply chain.
TRAINING WORKSHOPS
Remanufacturing Lighting Products
Joining the Sustainability Revolution | A practical workshop showing how to implement a remanufacturing process
An in depth one day workshop, Hosted by industrial designer Simon Fisher of F Mark, the CPD-accredited* event showcases considerations and regulations for providing a remanufacturing service for lighting products and components.
The workshop will guide attendees through all aspects of setting up a remanufacturing service, including key design principles for the LED light source, compliance testing, and the use of BS8887:221.

RECOLIGHT REUSE HUB
Avoiding unnecessary recycling for lighting
The need to no longer see luminaires as a single life product has been widely discussed in the Recolight Webinar series. At Recolight, we recycle, but as we move towards a Circular Economy model, recycling is not always the best solution.
Recolight is under a legal obligation to prioritise reuse over recycling, so we need to facilitate and encourage reuse.
CIRCULAR & SUSTAINABLE JARGON BUSTER
The adoption of the Circular Economy for truly sustainable lighting has seen the introduction of so many metrics, regulations, standards, and assessment methods.
The Recolight jargon buster is to help demystify all for you. Links are included for more information.
