Wiltshire-based retail lighting specialist Prolight Design says that a solar panel installation on the roof of its factory in Devizes is set to provide 50 per cent of the firm’s power requirements.
The installation is part of the brand’s ProZero sustainability initiative, which it says is not just about improving its internal operations but also embodies its vision of empowering our clients to also reduce their environmental impact, helping them achieve their own sustainability goals.
‘Over the past few years, we have made remarkable progress in reducing emissions, optimising energy efficiency, whilst enhancing the sustainability of our operations and products,’ says Prolight Design. ‘The installation of our solar power system is an important milestone, marking a bold step forward in our ongoing journey to net zero.’
Alongside this, the company says it has been developing its retail luminaires to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. Its latest Gen-E Collection of spotlights has undergone a major update with advanced LED technology which takes its delivered efficacy up to 173 delivered Lumens per Watt, a difficult-to-achieve metric in this format.
The company is promising more efficiency developments to come this summer with updated versions of other ranges. The next release is its Noble track luminaire which is says ‘represents the pinnacle of our GEN-E Collection with the ultimate blend of energy efficiency and circular design with UK manufacturing’.
‘The solar power systems reflects our mission to not only minimise our own carbon footprint but also to help shape a cleaner, greener future for the generations to come.
