LightGraphix publishes TM65, TM66 for its top products

LightGraphix luminaire is made to TM66

UK lighting manufacturer LightGraphix has published TM65 and TM66 assessments and ratings for its 20 top-selling products.

TM65, or Technical Memorandum 65, is a measure of the embedded carbon in a product devised by Cibse, while TM66 is a measure of a luminaire’s compatibility with the circular economy devised by the Society of Light and Lighting, Cibse’s specialist lighting division.

Products are awarded a TM66 rating based on life, recyclable materials, additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques and localisation, and repair or upgrade services.

The company says the majority of its luminaires have achieved an “Excellent Circularity” rating. External verification of the ratings was provided by circularity expert and Recolight workshop trainer Simon Fisher.

‘Very much like our company’s core values, our approach to TM66 has been to be as honest and open as possible,’ LightGraphix’s head of design Stephen Harris told the Circular Lighting Report.

‘Simon ran through the TM66 document and helped evaluate some of our products with us.

‘We design our products to be of the highest quality and perform thorough testing throughout the design process to make sure this happens. We then provide our customers with all the necessary information in order for them to be accurately specified.’

The products rated include the LD50, pictured, the company’s first surface-mounted path light and latest product to have been designed in collaboration with Sanjit Bahra, principal at lighting design consultancy DesignPlusLight.

Last year, LightGraphix won both at Build Back Better Platinum and Green awards for its Replaceable Light Engine, an initiative which gives its customers an unlimited ability to repair and upgrade LED fittings at any stage in their lifecycle, renewing them for decades, with minimal material waste as a result.

The company says it is working on a full environmental policy will it say will be released shortly.
