Big brands unveil EcoVadis ratings

EcoVadis

Three of the lighting industry’s biggest brands have been awarded their latest EcoVadis rating.

Erco, Forma Lighting, Roger Pradier and the Zumtobel Group have each received recognition from EcoVadis, the independent platform that assesses corporate sustainability performance across global industries.

The 2025 results highlight varying levels of achievement – platinum for Forma Lighting, gold for the Zumtobel Group, and silver for Erco– reflecting continued efforts by manufacturers to strengthen sustainability practices within the lighting sector.

Forma Lighting achieved the top-tier Platinum Medal, scoring 95 out of 100 and placing in the top one percent of all companies assessed globally.

The company received perfect marks in Environment, and near-perfect scores in sustainable procurement and labour and human rights.

Its performance reflects strengthened sustainability governance, ISO 14001 certification, and expanded environmental objectives across its operations.

Erco retained its silver medal for a second consecutive year, improving its score by three points to 92.

The German architectural lighting specialist performed above the industry average in all four EcoVadis categories: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

The company credits its diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, resource-efficient production processes, and long-life luminaire design approach, branded ‘Erco Greenology’, for its improved performance.

Meanwhile, the Zumtobel Group was awarded gold for the fourth time in succession, positioning it among the top one percent of companies rated by EcoVadis.

The Austria-based manufacturer gained additional points in ethics and labour and human rights through initiatives including a diversity, equity and inclusion strategy and enhanced information security processes.

EcoVadis also rated Zumtobel’s carbon management level as ‘leader’, supporting its net-zero pathway and emission reduction programme.

French firm Eclairage Roger Pradier SAS, which recently became a B Corp company, was awarded an EcoVadis Gold Medal.

EcoVadis assessments are based on international sustainability frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the UN Global Compact and ISO 26000.

With over 150,000 companies now rated worldwide, the platform has become a benchmark for measuring transparency and sustainability performance within global supply chains.
