Ridi Lighting UK has announced that it’s teaming up with carbon assessment and procurement consultancy Auditel to help it on its ‘ambitious journey’ towards achieving net zero carbon emissions.
The company says it wants to ‘weave sustainability into the very fabric of the business’.
Its ambition is to achieve Carbon Neutral status for scope 1 and 2 emissions within the next 24 months and work towards full Net Zero across all scopes by 2040.
It has already made significant progress with decarbonising its operations. It has shifted towards greener logistics, installed solar panels on its offices and moved its car fleet to electric vehicles.
‘Partnering with Auditel gives us the independent expertise and structured methodology we need to accurately measure and reduce our carbon footprint,’ said Ridi UK managing director Richard Holt. ‘Achieving net zero is not a trend; it’s a long-term responsibility. We’re committed to measurable progress, not just promises.’
Earlier this year, Recolight – publisher of the Circular Lighting Report –announced a partnership with Auditel to help manufacturers of luminaires begin their journey to net zero.
Since 1994, Auditel has built a network of procurement and carbon specialists who can give companies access to knowledge and expertise in procurement and decarbonisation.
The service will be headed by Michael Collett, an Auditel assessor and the former managing director of Wila Lighting.
The consultancy provides a comprehensive procurement service, covering over 100 cost areas across all sectors.
It says that due to its procurement expertise, it can potentially self-fund companies on their net zero journey, or even make it more profitable through cost removal and cost transformation.
‘Using our procurement expertise we make sure any action taken to improve your environmental credentials have a strong and potentially self-funding business case because we truly believe that reducing carbon emissions doesn’t need to cost the earth,’ says Auditel.
