Signify, Schneider team up with carbon reduction service

Signify Pineapple Partnership and Schneider collaboration

Lighting giant Signify, electrical brand Schneider and business consultancy Pineapple Partnership have teamed up to provide what they term a decarbonisation service for industry.

The offer, dubbed CoRE, will include connected lighting, solar panels, real-time energy monitoring and financing.

Initially focusing on the UK, the collaboration is expected to be rolled out globally at a later stage.

Schneider will helps organisations map their critical infrastructure and advise clients on efficiency and sustainability while Pineapple Partnership will help with finance, supply chains and skills.

The first customer is Edwards Vacuum, a supplier to the semiconductor sector. At its Somerset manufacturing site, the trio have created a digital twin and installed a photovoltaic array, a new lighting system with IoT-based controls and unlocked innovative financing for capital investment.

These measures are expected to deliver a 35 per cent reduction in energy consumption and an 80 per cent reduction in emissions at the site.

The initiative supports Edwards’ Vacuum broader sustainability goals, including a 46 per cent cut in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, and a 28 per cent reduction in Scope 3 by 2030.

Commenting on the collaboration, Nico van der Merwe, Cluster Leader, Europe West told the Circular Lighting Report:  ‘Signify thrives on partnerships, and this is a powerful example of how collaborations can unlock decarbonisation at scale.

‘As a global leader in lighting and sustainability, we know that upgrading to LED and connected lighting is one of the fastest, most cost-effective, and impactful actions building owners can take to reduce energy use and carbon emissions.

‘Through occupancy-based controls and remote monitoring, connected lighting drives efficiency and enhances operational visibility.

‘CoRE combines these proven technologies with financial and delivery innovation – enabling our clients to act now, at pace and scale.’

‘We’re proud to be working alongside Pineapple Partnerships and Schneider Electric to help organisations accelerate toward net-zero and build a more resilient, sustainable built environment in the UK and beyond.’
