Two sets of Fagerhult luminaires – both barely used – are being offered to industry professionals in a pioneering reuse initiative.
The lights are the fruit of a pilot project from the fit-out industry’s representative body, Finishes and Interiors Sector, designed to reduce the environmental impact of the sector and to cut embodied carbon emissions and waste from strip-out projects.
The products on offer come from a Cat A office fit-out which have been stripped out when the tenants moved in. The lights have been in the ceiling for 12 months.
Some 402 Pleiad G4 165 downlights are on offer with a further 306 three-hour emergency versions.
They are recessed wide-beam models in pure white RAL9010 and have both DALI and phase-pulse control.
Also available from the same project are Fagerhult Multilume Flat Delta luminaires configured for a SAS330 ceiling. There are 557 available, of which 240 are three-hour emergency versions.
Also available from the FIS programme is a number of ceiling rafts with integral lights, spotlights and pendants. Most have been taken from Cat A fit-outs that have been subsequently let to a tenant.
‘I’m really excited about this project,’ FIS chief executive officer Iain Mcilwee told the Circular Lighting Report. ‘This is a concerted effort to actually do something material, to learn as a collective and start, I hope, to catalyse change.
