KKDC unveils a ‘return and renew’ service

KKDC reuse service

Architectural lighting manufacturer KKDC has unveiled a reuse and reconditioning service for its lights at a new workshop in Wiltshire.

The company says the initiative, dubbed the RE.VO ‘return and renew’ initiative, focuses initially on housings and LED PCBs that not only are made to be a recyclable as possible, but made to be removable, reworked and reused.

The first product to benefit from inclusion in the RE.Vo programme is the KIISS profile-based linear LED luminaire. This product family is, says KKDC, the first series developed with a focus on complete product lifetime longevity using a future-proofed LED light module system to allow simple removability and replacement of the light source.

This means that at end of life, it can be upgraded with the brand’s latest LED technology to avoid unnecessary waste of fully functioning products.

The modular KIISS-L system allows the LED modules to be simply unscrewed and returned to KKDC for recycling or upgrade replacement via the KKDC ‘RE.VO’ refurbishment scheme, ensuring clients have a minimal environmental impact.

The KIISS-L features seamless end-to-end light runs up to 10m off single power feed and full homogenous diffused light effect with lens and micro louvre option.

It can specified asfully assembled fixture lengths, or it can by configured and assembled by the user by ordering the components individually.

Note: When mixing E020 & EP30 LED modules the system must not exceed 210W total power consumption from a single feed.

E020: 10m max run length.EP30: 7m max run length.

They units connect with Wago in-line connectors.

‘We are hoping we really see a buy in to this new way of managing LED products in commercial and hospitality spaces,’ says KKDC UK managing director Tom Hall.

‘We think the RE.VO will allow these spaces to be reused and repaired when areas are updated and redesigned.

‘As these projects start to put returned stock back to us then recycled products will become available to the market.’
