US firm unveils ‘renewable’ lighting platform

Linmore LifeTimeLED platform

US brand Linmore has unveiled with it terms a ‘renewable lighting infrastructure’.

It says its patented LifeTimeLED platform ‘shifts commercial and industrial lighting from disposable integrated fixtures’.

The core innovation is the Reluma plug-and-play module, which allows the light engine and driver to be replaced without replacing the entire luminaire housing.

The modular LifeTime LED design integrates the LED modules and driver into a single removable unit. When renewal is required, the module can be replaced while the fixture remains in place.

In many applications, Linmore says that the modules can be replaced in under a minute through a simplified plug-and-play approach that reduces disruption and service time.

It challenges the long-standing ‘replace the fixture’ culture that became standard during the LED transition.

Linmore says it is positioning this as a fundamental shift in how facilities think about maintenance, lifecycle costs and long-term sustainability.

The system is launching in troffer, door kit and linear strip configurations, with the claim that the lights can effectively last the life of a building while reducing total cost of ownership and material waste.

‘This is a major breakthrough for the LED lighting industry,’ Linmore president and CEO Paul Chamberlain told the Circular Lighting Report. ‘LEDs are no longer just more energy-efficient and longer-lasting, they are also now renewable and maintainable, making them even more affordable and valuable for virtually every market.’

He says that, depending on the application and maintenance assumptions, some projects realise lifecycle savings up to 70 per cent.

LifeTime further reduces landfill waste by repurposing or recycling used ReLuma Modules.

‘While LED technology improved energy efficiency, it never addressed what happens when systems reach end of life, including not just the time and labour to replace the luminaires, but also the waste involved.

Established in 2014, Linmore is based in Fresno, California.
