Donate-a-Light

Donate-A-Light is dedicated to redistributing unused, surplus, and depreciated lighting products to charities, not-for-profit organisations, hospices, care homes and community groups. The initiative ensures that brand-new but unwanted lighting is not discarded or left in storage, but instead delivered to places where it creates immediate and lasting impact.

Participation is open to all, helping organisations contribute to a more sustainable and resource-efficient future.

Donate-A-Light is a not-for-profit initiative supported by volunteers.

Donors and Beneficiaries

  • Donors: Manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, contractors, and organisations with new, surplus, unused, end-of-line, or depreciated lighting stock become donors. By gifting items that cannot be sold but are still in perfect condition, donors prevent avoidable waste and directly support communities in need.
  • Beneficiaries: Charities, not-for-profit organisations, hospices, care homes and community groups are the recipients of this lighting. These groups benefit from access to high-quality new lighting, which they would often be unable to afford.

Donate-a-Light need your help

  • Donate-A-Light relies on organisations stepping forward to donate unused or surplus lighting stock so it can be rehomed rather than recycled or scrapped.
  • Support is needed to raise awareness, helping connect more potential donors and beneficiaries across the UK.
  • Partnerships, sponsorship, and funding are essential to support the continued growth of Donate-A-Light, enabling us to expand our reach, increase donation volumes, and deliver even greater impact to the organisations we serve.

Support from donors, beneficiaries, and advocates enables Donate-A-Light to keep perfectly good lighting products in use and illuminate the lives of communities in need.
