Remanufacturing Process: From Site Survey to Handover
Every project follows five stages: survey, sample, proposal, remanufacture and handover.
Your project begins with a low-cost site survey to identify the luminaires involved and assess their suitability for remanufacture.
A sample luminaire is also needed for detailed bench evaluation, so the most appropriate technical solution can be established.
Following the site survey and technical evaluation, you will receive a detailed proposal and quotation for the remanufacture works.
On-Site Remanufacture in an Occupied Building
Where practical, remanufacturing your luminaires on site is typically the most cost- and carbon-effective approach.
Rather than removing your entire lighting installation and replacing it with new equipment, work can be carried out progressively. Sections of individual floors or areas are temporarily taken out of service while luminaires are remanufactured, tested and returned to operation.
This phased approach keeps the programme moving while minimising disruption to your building’s occupants and any other ongoing works.
It shows one of the key practical advantages of remanufacturing: you can achieve significant improvements to your existing lighting within an occupied commercial building, without the wholesale removal and replacement of valuable lighting assets.
Off-Site Remanufacture
Where programme requirements, site conditions or technical considerations make on-site remanufacture impractical, your luminaires can be carefully removed and transported to the Recolight Revive facility.
There, each luminaire goes through the required remanufacturing, testing and recertification processes before being returned to your site for reinstallation.
Off-site remanufacture introduces additional transport and handling, with associated cost and carbon impacts. However, for some projects it is the most practical way to deliver the required works safely, efficiently and to the appropriate technical standards.
