Mount unveils retrofit LED gear tray for bulkheads

Mount Lighting has unveiled an LED gear tray for upgrading 2D bulkhead fluorescent luminaires.

The MPAK gear tray, manufactured in the UK rom sheet steel and built with branded electronic components, means that clients can retain the housing of their lights and upgrade them in situ.

The tray can be used in both round and square bulkhead luminaires and is available in multiple options.

It is secured by keyhole fixing points and includes a fast-fit push wire terminal block for straightforward installation.

The MPAK gear tray is made from white powder-coated sheet steel and houses branded electronic components and has a rated lifetime of 50,000 hours.

There are both mains and emergency versions available. An optional microwave sensor allows for switching or dimming to maximise energy savings.

A 10W version with a colour temperature of 4000K delivering 1,428 lumens is designed to replace at 16W 2D lamp.

A 14W version with an output of 1,925 lumens is designed to replace the 28W 2D fluorescent and a 20W option with 2,519 lumens replaces a 38W 2D lamp.

The market for LED gear trays has expanded in recent years as clients future-proof their installations against the effects of the phase-out of fluorescent lamps and to cut energy.

Dunstable-based Mount says it is committed to sustainability. Its UK made luminaires are modular, allowing facility managers and electrical contractors to replace LED boards and diffusers without replacing the whole fitting.

Additionally, the company’s M-Line linear aluminium profiles can be recycled or repurposed. It also manufactures its ranges using Tridonic drivers, which hold a Bronze Cradle to Cradle certification.

Its LumeCycle service sees T5 and T8 lights upgraded with LED boards and technology and in many cases fitted with Casambi wireless controls, reducing power consumption, material waste and maintenance.
