Selux unveils retrofit kits to boost reuse

Selux LED upgrade kits

Selux has expanded its circular lighting offer with a new range of retrofit kits designed to extend the life of existing outdoor luminaires and reduce the need for complete fixture replacement.

The portfolio includes several retrofit solutions tailored to different applications. The Tritec Sky kits are engineered to meet Dark Sky requirements, helping to protect nocturnal ecosystems and preserve the night sky by minimising light pollution. According to Selux, their precision optics direct light only where it is needed, reducing unwanted light scatter to less than one per cent.

For urban environments, the Tritec Ambiance range provides a straightforward route to upgrading existing luminaires to current LED standards. The kits are designed for easy and secure installation, enabling cities and operators to improve performance while retaining existing infrastructure.

Selux’s Flex Kits feature freeform lens optics that deliver precise light distribution with high efficiency. Their adaptable design makes them suitable for a wide range of retrofit projects and offers a cost-effective alternative to full luminaire replacement. At corners, junctions and intersections, the kits allow targeted angular positioning of LED modules, with additional horizontal and vertical adjustment options supporting accurate alignment.

The range also includes the Gen 5 module, a high-performance retrofit solution developed for modernising large-scale pendant luminaires. The module uses optical silicone lenses, which Selux says provide higher light transmission than conventional glass or plastic alternatives. The material is also resistant to heat, UV exposure, scratches and breakage, while retaining flexibility and durability over time.

By enabling existing luminaires to be upgraded rather than discarded, the retrofit kits support circular economy principles while helping lighting operators improve efficiency, performance and environmental outcomes.
